Rava Gulab Jamun/Semolina Gulab Jamun

Uploaded By : Indian Mom's Kitchen

Gulab Jamun is the most common dessert after every Indian meal. Let me show you how easily you can make Gulab Jamun at home with ingredients available in your very own kitchen.
1/2 cup fine Rava (Semolina)
11/2 cup Milk
11/2 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
3-4 crushed Cardamom seeds
1 tsp Ghee
Oil for deep frying
Method: Bring to a boil water to which Sugar has been added. Add crushed Cardamom seeds, reduce flame and simmer for 2-3 minutes till syrup becomes slightly sticky. Keep aside.
Dry roast Rava for 1-2 minutes on very low flame, taking care to see that it doesn't change colour. Add Milk and stir continuously till it forms into a soft lump. Add Ghee and mix well. Remove from flame and allow to cool. Once cool, start kneading for 5-8 minutes till soft. Shape the Gulab Jamuns and fry them on medium flame till it turns golden brown. Now remove all the Gulab Jamuns from oil and put directly into the Sugar Syrup. Once all the Gulab Jamuns are in the syrup, cook the syrup for at least 5 minutes on low flame. Let the Gulab Jamuns remain in the syrup at least for an hour before serving. In the same way, you can easily make Pedas, Barfis, Halwas and a variety of Indian Sweets by clicking on the link given in the description column.
